How much does it cost?

Instead of asking 'How much will it cost?', ask yourself 'How much am I willing to invest in my business?'. The best way to think of a website or print project is as an investment. One that will pay off year after year.

The actual cost of a project entirely depends on the project itself. Contact me here to let me know what you need, and I will send you an estimate. (Back to top)

What does my money get me?

I can get my cousin to make me _______ for half of what you would charge. Can you match them?

Design is not a commodity.

Just as a client chooses the designer, the designer also chooses the client. It’s up to the designer to work with those who value the service provided. You really just need to ask yourself: Am I willing to invest in quality? (Back to top)

How long will the project take?

Every project is different. The simpler the project, the sooner it can be completed. Contact me for an estimate, and I will give you a tough timeline for completion. (Back to top)

 When can you get started?

Because I can only handle so many projects at once, new projects will have to wait until older ones are completed. If I have room to take on a new project, work will begin on it as soon as the contract is signed and filed away. (Back to top)

 What is your process?

After an estimate has been given and a contract signed, I follow these steps:

Design Brief - I meet with the client (if meeting in person isn't an option, a phone call or detailed email will do) to discuss their specific needs. It helps to focus the work on the necessary while avoiding the unnecessary.

Research & Brainstorming - I spend time reviewing the design brief, taking into account competitors, design trends, history of business, and where the business wants to go. With this, I come up with some initial ideas, usually drawn out on paper or roughly designed in Photoshop/Illustrator.

Sketching/Concepts - Quick sketches or design mockups help weed out the bad ideas and help the good ideas move forward.

Rendering - Using the most effective idea devised from the Sketching/Concepts stage, I further explore the possibilities of that idea, while adding more detail and depth, narrowing it down even more. Once these renderings have been completed, they are presented to the client.

Presentation - Websites are presented as local HTML files, print designs and logos presented as PDFs, shown in context using digital mockups. Client gives approval or requests further changes.

Finishing Touches - Once the client has reviewed and approved the project, finishing touches are applied.

Artwork Supplied - Websites are uploaded, print designs are sent to the printers, and logos added to the company's identity.

Sign Off - All contracts and project papers are marked as complete and the client pays the amount shown on the invoice. (Back to top)

How do I know which designer to choose?

To help you choose the perfect designer for your project, read these 10 Things to Expect from a Designer. Even though the page itself is centered more on logo designers, the same guidelines apply to other types of designers as well. (Back to top)

How will we be able to see what you've made for us?

If it is a print job or logo design, I will send a preview sized PDF via email. For websites, I will upload it to an FTP for remote viewing or to your domain in a subfolder, allowing only those who know the address to view it. If you would prefer, I can put the HTML files on a thumb drive and send that to you. (Back to top)

Can we contact you by phone?

Once we have established an estimate, I will supply you with my phone number. (Back to top)

How do you accept payment?

I currently accept cash, personal cheques, Paypal and email interac direct transfers. (Back to top)

Can you recommend any printers?

Once the project is complete, I can find the perfect printer for it depending on what your budget is. (Back to top)

I have a ________ someone made for me a few years ago. Are you able to use it to make a new one?

I can take old logos, designs and websites and make them new and exciting once again, while keeping the original idea and feel intact. Its up to the client how much of the original is kept, and how much new is added. (Back to top)
